frequently asked questions

What is a fanzine?

A fanzine is a published mini-magazine that is produced in limited quantities, typically centered around a particular interest, niche, or pop culture content. Zines can be free, sold for charity, or sold for profit amongst the team. This project is a for-charity fanzine, meaning all profits will go into a meaningful cause.

WHICH CHARITY WILL YOU BE DONATING TO?

Our aim is to donate all proceeds to a charity based within the Philippines. You are more than welcome to suggest charities (local or global) as well in our interest check form when it goes live!

WHO CAN APPLY FOR THIS PROJECT?

Applications are open to everyone, regardless of any previous zine experience. However, all applicants must be 18+ by the time of applying due to the mature and graphic nature of the source material.

PHYSICAL OR DIGITAL?

Ideally, our plan is both! Raw Heart will have both physical & digital formats, as well as physical & digital merchandise available sold on a preorder basis for a limited run.

SFW OR NSFW?

It is an 18+ zine which may contain graphic themes as per the source material. We will be deferring to the short film and what it encompasses within the context as our limit.Depending on interest check results, we will also consider a NSFW digital add-on zine (please note that this refers to sexual content only; not canon-typical graphic imagery). If you are accepted into the project, we just ask that you inform us of your ideas for your piece in advance during the pitching period (please refer to our schedule).

ALTERNATIVE CREATORS?

Our team would love to include any and all forms of art, including roles such as Chefs, Cosplayers, Musicians, etc. We only ask that you include your intended role in the ‘other’ section of our interest check form and our contributor applications with your portfolio.

AU CONTENT?

Please stick to the setting of the film. However, we encourage pre-canon and post-canon content in accordance to what happens canonically within the film!

COMPENSATION?

As compensation for assisting us with this charity project, ALL contributors will be given a free digital zine bundle! If the project does really well and our budget allows, contributors may also receive a full physical bundle of the zine.Shipping may or may not be included; this will be determined closer to the production and/or shipping stage.
